Five people. Twenty countries. Three hundred filings a year.
How Dayco control and automated their tax processes.
Dayco is a €700M automotive parts manufacturer operating across 20 countries. They ship globally through their network — generating VAT registrations, local filings, and payment deadlines across every market they operate in. Overseeing all of that compliance falls to a five-person tax team. For a long time, their main tool was a shared Excel tracker.

From shared inboxes to a single platform.
Automating tax workflows to take back control.
Dayco's five-person tax team manages compliance across 20 countries and 300+ annual filings. Before Keeyns, the overview lived in Excel trackers and shared inboxes — reliable until someone forgot to update them. Nada Rihaoui led the implementation, rebuilt the workflows from scratch, and moved the entire operation onto one platform. Now the team starts each day in Keeyns, not Outlook.

Running tax compliance for 20 countries with spreadsheets starts failing before you realise it
Dayco's tax team is five people. The compliance map they own is not. VAT registrations, local filings, payment deadlines, external advisors — all of it spread across a €700M business operating in 20 countries, generating more than 300 filings a year.
For a while, Excel held it together. Trackers, colour codes, shared inboxes — the usual infrastructure of a tax function that's grown faster than the tooling around it. The problem isn't that Excel is bad. The problem is that when the whole process lives in a spreadsheet, the whole process is only as reliable as the last person who remembered to update it.
You're always dependent on the weakest part of the process.
Twenty countries mapped, workflows tailored, spreadsheets thrown out.
The decision to move to Keeyns wasn't about finding a prettier dashboard. It was about getting a single source of truth — somewhere that every filing obligation, every external advisor task, every internal deadline lived in one place that anyone on the team could open and trust.
Dayco assigned Nada Rihaoui as the internal project lead. That decision mattered. The implementation didn't go through IT, it didn't go through a committee — it went through the person who understood the workflows intimately enough to know which defaults wouldn't work and which ones needed rebuilding from scratch.
So she rebuilt them. Country by country, process by process, adapting the platform to fit how Dayco's teams actually work — not the other way around. Within weeks, 20 countries and 300+ annual obligations had a home that wasn't a spreadsheet.
"I went rogue. We didn't just use the default workflows. We tailored them to fit exactly how our teams work."
– Nada Rihaoui, Global Tax Manager, Dayco
The compliance map didn't shrink. The anxiety around it did.
Martijn Rovers, Head of Tax at Dayco, puts the broader shift plainly: organisations that don't adapt are walking toward a cliff without realising it. The team size hasn't changed. The compliance scope hasn't shrunk. But the infrastructure holding it together finally matches the weight it's been asked to carry.
"Anytime during the day, I can just, within two minutes, see my dashboards and where we are in terms of compliance."
– Martijn Rovers, Head of Tax, Dayco
Before
- Compliance status lived in shared Excel trackers — always one missed update away from wrong
- Audit trails vanished when colleagues changed roles or left
- External advisors managed via email threads — easy to lose, hard to chase
- Checking compliance status meant opening Outlook and hoping the latest thread told the full story
- Oversight required a meeting — or a phone call — or waiting for someone to reply
After
- All 20 countries, 300+ filings tracked in one platform — live status, no cross-referencing
- Every task, comment, and document is on the platform — employee turnover doesn't erase the history
- External advisors have tasks with deadlines — and get automated reminders
- Compliance status visible within two minutes, any time of day, from the dashboard alone
- Day starts with Keeyns, not the inbox — the overview is already there
